The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation offers 16 scholarships for attending the courses of the Accademia d’Arti e Mestieri dello Spettacolo Teatro alla Scala of Milano.

The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAECI) has established throghout the years a productive and appreciated partnership with the „Accademia Teatro alla Scala”, a renowned institution that plays a primary role in  education to performing arts. The Accademia pursues an international dimension, thus welcoming international students from around the globe. Thanks to the abovementioned partnership, this year the Ministry of Foreign Affairs offers a set of scholarships for two courses, to be held in the upcoming 2019-2020 academic year, specifically the “Academy of Lyric Opera” and the “Master in Performing Arts Management”.

1) Scholarships for the Academy of Lyric Opera

For this study course, the MAECI offers 11 scholarships, each one lasting 9 months, to young international (i.e. non-Italian) opera singers who will pass the selection  procedure for the Academy of Lyric Opera. Scholarships will be granted starting from January 1st 2020 in the form of a EUR 900,00 monthly allowance (total amount of each scholarship will be EUR 8.100,00). The admission notice will soon be published on the Accademia’s website and interested candidates will be able to apply between September 4th 2019 and October 11th 2019.

2) Scholarships for the Master in Performing Arts Management

For this study course, the MAECI offers 5 scholarships, each lasting 6 months. This Master’s aim is training high-level professional with management and economic skills specifically fit for the sector of live shows.  
Scholarships are offered for international students (i.e. non-Italian) only and will be granted starting from January 1st 2020 in the form of a EUR 900,00 monthly allowance (total amount of each scholarship will be EUR 5.400,00). Application procedures for the master are already open: non-EU candidates can apply until September 4th 2019, EU candidates can apply until October 1st
2019. It will be possible to apply for the scholarship until October the 1st, 2019.

Please note that those who will be awarded with a scholarship for any of the two study courses will have to provide on their own an health insurance policy to cover any illness or injury expense they might occur while living in Italy.
