Curriculum Vitae

Born in Washington D.C. on the 19th of June, 1961, he is married with Marta and has two sons.

Following a Baccalaureate in Classical Studies, he graduated in Political Science at “La Sapienza” University in Rome in 1985. He speaks fluently French, English, Spanish and Portuguese languages.

During his career, he served the Italian Republic in the following positions:

2023: Ambassador of Italy to Poland

2020: Senior Deputy Political Director / Security Director. Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Rome;

2016: Ambassador Representative of Italy to the Political and Security Committee (PSC) of the EU, Brussels;

2012: Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Italy in Washington DC;

2010: Director for the Russian Federation, Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia - Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rome;

2010: Promoted to the ranking of Minister Plenipotentiary;

2009: Balkans Director - Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rome;

2008: Minister Counsellor and Deputy Permanent Representative of Italy to the North Atlantic Council in Brussels;

2005: First Counsellor for the Italian Delegation to the North Atlantic Council in Brussels. Also serves as Spokesman and is a Member of the Italian Delegation to the NATO Summits in Riga (2006), Bucharest (2008) and Strasbourg/Kehl (2009);

2002: Deputy Chief of Mission and Spokesman at the Embassy of Italy in Tel Aviv;

1999: Press and Information Office (Head of Office for Middle East and Africa) – Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rome;

1996: Head of the Economic and Commercial Office - Embassy of Italy in Vienna;

1992: First Secretary for Political Affairs Embassy of Italy in Cairo;

1989: Joins the Italian Diplomatic Service; assigned to DG Political Affairs, Middle East and Mediterranean Desk, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rome.
